Internet Membership

When you join the CTDG as an "Internet member" you will be given a user id and password with which you will be able to gain access to the magazine download area for the duration of your membership.

Please note that we do not email you the magazine, you log into the Members Only area and from there you download a copy of the magazine.

The Design-IT magazine downloads are in PDF format. To read the file you will need the Adobe reader installed on your PC. If you do not already have it or you have an old version, you can get the latest version for free (see link on the Members Only page).

We are providing two sizes of download. Both contain the same content but have been saved at different resolutions. The smaller resolution is suitable for a member with a modem running at 56K and the larger higher resolution version is more suitable for members using broadband.

The sizes are:-

1. about 2.5 MBytes saved at 72 DTPI. This will take about 6 to 7 minutes to download if you have a modem running at 56K.
2. normally about 12to15 Mbytes (varies according to number and size of images in the magazine) saved at 300 DTPI to give a better resolution when printing. With a modem running at 56K it would take about 30 to 45minutes to download or about 10 to 15 minutes by Broadband depending on the speed of your link. The size of this version may vary according to the number of images in the magazine.

Please note that download times may also vary according to how busy your Internet Service Provider is. At peak times downloads may take longer.

The magazine is released 4 times a year, end of January, end of April, end of July and end of October. When a new magazine is available we post a message on the CTDG email list. We do not normally send out individual reminders but we recommend if that members feel they need a reminder that they add their email address to our email list.
